Connacht will be without captain John Muldoon and lock Ultan Dillane for their PRO12 game against the Ospreys, with the pair out injured.
Muldoon suffered a hamstring injury in training while Dillane sustained an ankle injury in the final minutes against Ulster on December 23. He is unavailable for a number of weeks and will be assessed by an ankle specialist to determine his treatment plan and length of recovery.
Meanwhile, Finlay Bealham and Matt Healy are both suffering from stomach bugs and did not train on Tuesday. They will be monitored this week ahead of team selection, as will Jack Carty, who picked up a minor calf injury in training on Monday.
Nepia Fox-Matamua dislocated his rib in the Munster game and is unavailable this week but his fitness will be monitored by the medical team.
In a boost Eoin McKeon and James Connolly have both recovered from last week’s illness and have re-joined training, John Cooney has been integrated into team training this week following his thigh injury and it is hoped he will be available for selection against the Ospreys.
Finally, Danie Poolman has returned to team training having passed the return-to-play protocols for concussion.
