Wallabies prop Sekope Kepu will leave Top 14 club Bordeaux-Bègles at the end of the season to return to Australia.
UBB released a statement on Thursday confirming that the experienced tighthead had reached an agreement with the club to end his contract two years early.
Kepu initially signed a three-year deal and linked up with Bordeaux-Bègles following the end of the Rugby World Cup, after starting in the final for the Wallabies.
"President Laurent Marti and Sekope Kepu today signed a contract termination amendment on their previous deal which bound them until 2018," read a statement.
"This termination was carried out at the request of the player who wished to return to Australia for family reasons.
"UBB regrets this decision but wanted to respect the family balance of the player. Both parties leave each other on very good terms and UBB wish good luck to Sekope Kepu for the rest of his career."
