Ryan Kankowski will start at number eight for the Sharks in Friday's Super Rugby clash with the Rebels in Durban.
The Sharks will feature at Kings Park for the first time since mid-April in the Australian team’s second South African Super Rugby fixture.
Springbok loose forward Kankowski makes a welcome return to action and slots in at the back of the scrum with Renaldo Bothma switching to flank as Marcell Coetzee is rested. On the other flank, Willem Alberts is subject to a late fitness test.
Mouritz Botha replaces injured Stephan Lewies in the second row.
Andre Esterhuizen replaces the injured Frans Steyn at inside centre.
The Sharks are currently 11th in Super Rugby with five wins from their 14 matches this season.
