Scarlets and Wales tighthead prop Rhodri Jones is set to return to action this weekend after a lengthy injury lay-off.

The 23-year-old has only played one match in 2015 after dislocating his shoulder against the Ospreys in January and then tearing a pectoral muscle in training.

Jones could play in the Scarlets' home clash against Zebre on Sunday or possibly for one of the Welsh region's semi-professional teams in the Principality Premiership.

"Rhodri is in full training and will have some rugby this weekend," Scarlets head coach Wayne Pivac told the South Wales Evening Post.

Fellow tighthead Samson Lee sustained a cut to his forehead in last weekend's home defeat to Racing 92, but will be fit to face Zebre. Another front-row, Peter Edwards, has been sidelined after injuring his elbow in the same match.

"Pete has had a scan and there is damage to a ligament," added Pivac.
