Jones flies to London for RFU talks

Eddie Jones appears to be edging closer to becoming the first foreign head coach to take charge of England after flying to London.

Jones has reportedly flown from Cape Town to London to speak with the RFU about becoming England's next head coach.

The former Australia boss tasted great success with Japan at the 2015 Rugby World Cup, held in England, and had signed a three-year contract with Super Rugby franchise the Stormers.

However with the RFU ready to pay whatever it takes to get their man, including a reported fee of £700,000, Jones' time in Cape Town may already be over.

Speculation amongst the British media suggests that an announcement confirming the appointment of Jones could come as soon as Friday, with an agreement in place to compensate the Stormers given Jones has only served one week of his contract.
