Exeter Chiefs flanker Tom Johnson thinks the club can challenge at the next level following their recruitment.
England international Geoff Parling along with Leicester's Julian Salvi and Italy's Michele Campagnaro amongst others are all heading to Sandy Park for the 2015/2016 season.
The Chiefs narrowly finished outside of the top four on the final day of the Premiership season, missing the play-offs, but will be back in the Champions Cup next season.
Johnson has been with the Devon-based outfit since their promotion in 2010 and the 32-year-old England flanker thinks that the new recruits will help the club kick on.
“I think with the people Rob has brought in to strengthen the squad – and with their quality too – then then we can do even better next season,” Johnson told the club website.
“Next season we will have the European Champions Cup, which will test us a lot, but there are players coming in who are used to top-four finishes and playing in the latter stages of competitions.
“That experience should help us a lot as a team and see us go one better than last season.”
