Johnson cited for Kearney tackle

Wasps back-row Ashley Johnson will appear before an independent Judicial Officer after being cited for his tackle on Leinster wing Dave Kearney.

EPCR received a citing complaint against the Wasps flanker following the European Rugby Champions Cup Round 6 fixture at the Ricoh Arena.

Johnson is alleged to have committed a dangerous tackle on Leinster wing Kearney in the opening minute of the game in contravention of Law 10.4(i). He was shown a yellow card by Jerome Garces (France) following the incident.

The complaint was made by the match Citing Commissioner, Alberto Recaldini.

Simon Thomas (Wales) has been appointed as the independent Judicial Officer for the hearing which will take place in Dublin on Thursday.
