All Blacks wing Cory Jane is still in contention for a World Cup spot after scans cleared him of serious damage to an ankle injury.
Jane sustained the injury while playing for the New Zealand Barbarians in their 34-17 victory over the Maori All Blacks at Eden Park on Saturday and it was intially feared that he was set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
But the 32-year-old, who battled leg injuries during the latter part of the Hurricanes' Super Rugby campaign, allayed fears over his injury on his Twitter account on Tuesday.
"Think I dodged a bullet," Jane tweeted.
"As bad as it was it's only a nasty ankle sprain and nothing serious."
"Time to rehab, heal and pray," he wrote before adding "down but not done".
Jane's injury came after Highlanders wing Waisake Naholo fractured a leg bone in New Zealand's Rugby Championship victory over Argentina in Christchurch on Friday.
