Sale Sharks have announced that young centre and product of the club's academy, Sam James, has extended his contract by two years.
James broke into the first-team at the start of the current season and has been a regular ever since, turning out in both centre positions.
"Sam is maturing into a class player. He is a dedicated professional who absorbs all the information and guidance that the coaches and senior players throw at him," said director of rugby Steve Diamond about the midfielder.
Commenting on his new deal, James said: "I was more than happy to sign a new deal with the club I grew up with. I am looking forward to the rest of this season as we have plenty to play for and the next two seasons too at least."
