Argentinian internationals Martin Landajo and Guido Petti have expressed mixed emotions ahead of their two pre-season warm-up matches.
The Jaguares will face the Cape Town-based Stormers at Newlands on Saturday and the Lions at Ellis Park next week.
Martin Landajo, who is included in side for the upcoming clashes, admits that the Argentinians are feeling the pressure of stepping into the unknown.
“The anxiety is palpable now and it shows in training,” Landajo told Vodacom Rugby.
“We have come from a tough pre-season, one of the toughest I’ve had, and we did that to get used to the speed and intensity we will have to deal with.”
Lock Guido Petti expressed his excitement ahead of their first Super Rugby campaign and believes the upcoming warm-up games will act as an indicator of their form and are important in getting the momentum going.
“These two friendlies are very important to building momentum,” Petti explained.
“This is all very new to us, the novelty of it keeps us excited.
"We are hungry to start playing now.
“I think these two friendlies will show us where we stand,”
“In these games we will start to work on the game plan.
