Italy have called in Zebre winger Michele Visentin to replace the injured Andrea Masi in their World Cup squad.
Masi tore his Achilles early on in the opening day loss to France, leaving them short of options in the three-quarters.
Luca Morisi had already been ruled out of the tournament, while Gonzalo Garcia and Tommaso Benvenuti have been struggling with injuries as well.
Visentin comes into the squad having made just one appearance for Italy, starting on the wing in February's win away to Scotland in the Six Nations.
Italy's next match in the tournament is in Leeds against Canada as they look to get back on track in their battle for a quarter-final place.
