Ireland have suffered a double blow after both Keith Earls and Chris Henry were ruled out of Saturday's clash with Australia due to respective injuries.
Head coach Joe Schmidt has called up Leinster duo Shane Jennings and Luke Fitzgerald for this week's game against the Wallabies in Dublin.
Henry tore his hamstring against Samoa while Munster back Earls remains out having missed last week's fixture because of a knee injury.
Ulster right wing Tommy Bowe is a doubt due to a calf injury but in better news, fly-half Jonathan Sexton is in line to return from a hip injury.
“Unfortunately, Chris suffered a hamstring tear and Shane Jennings has been called in as a replacement. Jonny Sexton rested and rehabbed over the weekend and is expected to train fully and available for selection for the weekend,” said team manager Mick Kearney on Monday.
“Keith has been slow to settle and won't be available this week. He will continue to be monitored.”
