Ireland move above England in World Rankings

Date published: March 13 2018

Ireland have celebrated winning the Six Nations title by moving above England and into second place in the World Rugby Rankings.

Ireland were handed the title following France's 22-16 victory over England, after Joe Schmidt's men had beaten Scotland 28-8 earlier in the day.

On top of denying England a third successive championship, they have now added salt to the wounds by leapfrogging the Red Rose on the world rankings.

England now have the chance to reclaim second spot in the World Rankings this Saturday when they welcome an Ireland side in search of a Grand Slam to Twickenham.
