New Crusaders signing Digby Ioane is confident that he can make a significant impact on his new side’s season in Super Rugby.
The former Reds wing, a Super Rugby winner in 2011 against the Crusaders, has joined up with the New Zealand franchise ahead of the 2017 competition.
Ioane has spent the last few seasons in France with Stade Français and also in Japan, before sealing a surprise move to Christchurch.
Last capped by the Wallabies in 2013 against the British and Irish Lions, Ioane represented Australia in 35 Tests scoring 11 tries.
“I still have some good rugby left in me and I love playing Super Rugby so I wasn’t feeling like I was about to hang up the boots,” Ioane told Fox Sports.
“When the opportunity at the Crusaders came up I jumped at it.
“I’m very grateful. The reason many players see the Crusaders as a top rival is because they are one of the most successful Super Rugby sides.”
