Northampton scrum-half Kahn Fotuali’i could be sidelined for a couple of weeks with a shoulder injury sustained in Saturday’s win over Harlequins.
Fotuali’i sustained the injury while scoring Saints’ third try in his team’s 30-25 victory at Twickenham.
The Samoan international, who came off the replacements bench, was forced off the field which meant full-back Ben Foden had to play the closing stages of the match at full-back.
And Saints’ forwards coach Dorian West revealed that Fotuali’i could be ruled out of Friday’s Aviva Premiership clash with Newcastle at Franklin’s Gardens.
“It’s still early days on that,” West told the Northampton Chronicle and Echo.
“He’s had some X-rays and some scans and we need to speak to some people about the best way of getting him back as soon as possible.
“He may well miss a week or two, but we’ll see where he is.”
The Saints could be boosted by the return of England lock Courtney Lawes, who missed the Harlequins clash with an ankle injury.
