Injured Morisi to miss World Cup

Italy have lost exciting back Luca Morisi to injury ahead of the Rugby World Cup after he damaged his knee against Wales.

Morisi suffered an MCL injury and will now be assessed by the medical staff at his club Treviso to determine how long he will be sidelined for.

The injury is severe enough however to end his chances of playing in the Rugby World Cup.

The 24-year-old has won 16 caps for Italy since his debut against England back in 2012 and scored an excellent try against the same opponent in this year's Six Nations at Twickenham.

In better news, Gonzalo Garcia's recovery from an ankle injury is progressing well and he will link up with the squad on Saturday before they travel to the World Cup.
