Imhoff hails Argentina’s defence

Argentina wing Juan Imhoff hailed his team's defensive effort in Sunday's 43-20 victory over Ireland in their Rugby World Cup quarter-final in Cardiff.

Tries by Matias Moroni and Imhoff gave Los Pumas an early 17-0 lead, but Ireland fought back to narrow the gap to three points at 23-20 before Argentina secured victory when Joaquin Tuculet and Imhoff crossed in the game's closing stages.

"We will enjoy this moment but we know we have a tough game next week," said Imhoff.

"Ireland played with a great intensity. We are a really good team in offence.

"But today we had a defence to make the difference."
