Fly-half George Ford will see out his contract with Bath even though his dad Mike Ford was sacked as the club’s head coach at the end of the 2015/16 season.

Ford senior┬ápaid the price after Bath’s disastrous Premiership campaign in which they finished the season in ninth place.

The 23-year-old confirmed he will see out his contract with Bath and dismissed suggestions that he wanted to leave the Premiership outfit.

He admitted, however, that he believes Bath made a mistake to part ways with his dad.

“It upsets you because you don’t necessarily think it’s the right decision,” he told the BBC.

There were rumours that George’s deal had a clause in which related to Mike’s premature departure, although the England pivot signed a two-year contract extension before Christmas.

“I’ve just signed two years at the club, so I’ll be there for the next two years,” he added.
