Scarlets centre Jonathan Davies will run out at Parc y Scarlets in the red jersey for the first time in two years.
Davies will link up with a world-class backline at the Scarlets with internationals Scott Williams, Liam Williams and DTH van der Merwe returning from injury for the season opener as well as newcomer Rhys Patchell set to make his Parc y Scarlets debut.
Speaking ahead of the PRO12 campaign opener Davies said:
"It's been really good to come back, what's been achieved over the last year and the improvements that have been made are good to see," Davies told the Scarlets official website.
"I've really enjoyed working with the coaches so far and I'm excited for the group of players we have and what we could achieve this year."
The Scarlets will field a strong backline on the weekend, sprinkled with international talent, however Davies is fully aware that the individuals need to work together as a group to dazzle supporters and critics alike.
"The most important part is that we keep on top of each other, we have to deliver on the field, that comes from working hard in the week," Davies said.
"Yes, there's a group of talented individuals there but we have to make sure we gel as a unit and make sure that we're all on the same page really. It's good to be a part of that. I'm really excited at the prospect of playing a lot of rugby with the boys."
Speaking about the return of his fellow Welsh internationals Scott and Liam Williams Davies went on to say:
"Scarlets were unfortunate having Scott and Liam out for a large portion of last year. I think hopefully there's a bit more strength in depth this year, it will help us push forward to the top four. If we get there I feel on any given day I think this squad can beat anyone in the PRO12."
