Huget edging closer to full fitness

France and Toulouse back Yoann Huget is gradually working his way back to his best after recovering from an ACL injury during the Rugby World Cup.

Huget’s injury ruled him out for the rest of the season with Toulouse but the 29-year-old was back in action this weekend for his club during their pre-season friendly against Racing 92.

Having a fully-fit Huget back in action will be a major boost for club and country but the hard work isn’t done yet, as Huget tries to rediscover his natural rhythm ahead of the new Top 14 season.

“It feels good. It’s great to be back out there on the pitch. I’ve worked hard to come back and make the most of the work I’ve put in over a year. I’m really happy to have been able to play for 60 minutes,” Huget said.

“I will need to get my rhythm back, these sorts of friendly games are perfect for me, because I need game time.

“I still have work to do but it’s positive going forward. If you want it, you can do a lot of things.

“I thought a lot about the work I’ve done and everyone who has helped me, especially new people who came into
my life during this period.

“I also thought about my wife because it wasn’t easy watching my friends play every weekend and she had to be very patient.”
