Exeter head coach Rob Baxter was delighted his side secured a home quarter-final in the European Rugby Challenge Cup after beating Bayonne on Saturday.
The Chiefs will take on Newcastle in April at Sandy Park after they clinched the number two seeding of Europe’s second tier competition.
And the 45-3 victory over the French side left Baxter a happy boss, as he looks for vocal home support when the Falcons arrive in Exeter.
“A home quarter-final is something we haven’t experienced before in any of the European cups, so that will be fantastic for us,” said Baxter.
“What we’ve got to hope now is that we can get a big crowd in here and put in a good performance that will potentially keep the European Challenge Cup alive for us for as long as possible.”
