Glasgow Warriors flanker Tyrone Holmes has been banned for one week after his sending off against Newport Gwent Dragons last week.
Holmes was sent off for stamping just after half-time in the game at Rodney Parade, and will now miss Glasgow’s home clash with Connacht.
Despite playing with 14 men for virtually the whole of the second half, Glasgow still won 33-13 and currently sit second in the Guinness PRO12 with three wins from three games.
The disciplinary committee decided Holmes’ action constituted a low-end offence carrying an entry-point of a two-week suspension.
Due to Holmes’ previous good disciplinary record and his apology to victim T Rhys Thomas, the committee decided to reduce the suspension to one week.
He will be eligible to return for Glasgow’s away trip to Treviso on October 5.
