Veteran lock Brad Thorn is set to miss three to four weeks for the Highlanders in Super Rugby due to injury.

The 39-year-old withdrew in the first half of the Highlanders' win over the Blues in Dunedin.

Thorn was replaced by Josh Bekhuis, who should be expected to start alongside All Blacks second row Jarrad Hoeata this weekend.

One of few players in the Highlanders squad to have played Test rugby, Thorn's experience will be missed until mid-March.

Jamie Joseph's side are top of the New Zealand Conference following their bonus point win in Round Two.
