Exeter Chiefs back-line coach Ali Hepher says that the Chiefs pre-season is going excellently so far.
Hepher says that the players are putting the extra yards in before they go on a week's break.
"It's going really well … The guys are in their final week of work before a week's break and they've worked incredible hard," Hepher told the Express and Echo.
"At the minute they're feeling a bit sore but that's part and parcel of trying to take them to the edge a little bit and they're looking forward to their rest.
"They've got a couple days of more hard work to do first but we're right on track to hitting the preseason games well and obviously then building to a big season in the Premiership."
Hepher was the coach of the England Saxons' who played South Africa A and won the two-game series says that the tour to South Africa provided a valuable opportunity to strengthen the players.
"It was a fantastic trip … It was a great place to go and a good bunch of guys with a very good management team," Hepher said.
"We had a really good time but we also good some good, valuable rugby work in with some good learning for me.
"Hopefully we've improved those players a little bit and given them some things to work on to enhance their international careers.
"All in all, it was a really good trip and to get two wins was great but I think to try and progress the players on was key and I think we managed to do that.
