For All Blacks coach Sir Graham Henry believes the current Wallabies team is the worst he has ever seen.

However rather than Australia's demise being something for Henry and New Zealand to crow about, the World Cup winning coach believes their current slump is bad for the sport.

Australia were hammered by the All Blacks in Sydney at the start of the Rugby Championship before losing 29-9 to the world champions in Wellington.

They picked up their first win of 2016 against South Africa last weekend.

"It's a concern," Henry told Newstalk ZB.

"I think it's probably the worst Australian team I have ever seen and that's a real worry for the game.

"You want Australia playing rugby and you want Australia playing well. And you want South Africa to be doing the same thing. But South Africa have probably lost half of their tests over the last three years."
