Hassler blow hits Ospreys

Ospreys have been left lamenting the bad luck of Jeff Hassler after the Canadian was stretchered from the field against Cardiff Blues.

The hard-working wing, who had missed a large chunk of last season due to a knee injury, came off in the 39th minute at the Liberty Stadium.

And head coach Steve Tandy admitted they are fearing another spell out for the international as their win came tinged with that disappointment.

“It was his lower leg. It’s doesn’t look great,” he told Wales Online after the 46-24 victory.

“It’s really disappointing for the boy. He had an indifferent season last year because of injuries, and for him to be struck down again is going to hurt us as he is such a physical specimen.

“He’s diligent and a great team man.”
