Harlequins have announced the signing of Edinburgh and Scotland winger Tim Visser for next season.
Visser is an incredibly strong runner and has been the Pro12’s leading try scorer for the past four seasons. In his first season for Edinburgh he was named Young Player of the Season and backed that up with a Player of the Season Award in the 2011/12 season.
The 27-year-old made his debut for Scotland in 2012 against Fiji and scored two tries. He has since gone on to play a further 16 Tests and score five more tries. He also represented the Barbarians against England in 2011 in a match played at Twickenham Stadium.
In a career that started in his birth country, the Netherlands, Visser signed for Newcastle Falcons following an impressive performance playing sevens in Amsterdam. He then spent time on loan at Northampton Saints before signing for current club Edinburgh in 2009.
On making the announcement Tim commented: “I am delighted to join a club with as much heritage as Harlequins. It’s a dream come true and I’m looking forward to meeting my new team mates and helping the club move forward.”
Harlequins Director of Rugby Conor O’Shea added: “We are delighted to welcome Tim to the club. He is and always has been a finisher and with the margins between winning and losing so small, players like Tim can be the difference. He is a great man, who is really driven to succeed.
“We are looking forward to welcoming him to Harlequins next season.”
