Chris Hala’ufia has joined London Welsh on a two-week loan deal from the Scarlets as he aims to get some game time.

The Tongan number eight only joined the Welsh region over the off-season but is yet to make his debut for Wayne Pivac’s side.

He will now join the Exiles for two weeks as they look to get off the mark this season after a tough start to the campaign.

“London Welsh are in a position to give him some game time,” said Scarlets coach Wayne Pivac.

“He’d requested to be loaned and it has been agreed between the three parties.”

Hala’ufia spent six years with London Irish prior to his move to the Scarlets, and has also played for Harlequins in the Premiership.

Coincidentally he was sent off against London Welsh when they were last in the Premiership in 2012, although he later won an appeal against a ban.
