Italy fly-half Kelly Haimona has been ruled out for up to three months after undergoing surgery on the arm injury he suffered against Wales last week.

The Zebre number ten left the field after just four minutes at the Stadio Olimpico holding his arm after attempting to tackle powerful centre Jamie Roberts.

Haimona was replaced by Luciano Orquera in a game that Italy went on to lose 61-20, with an injury update having been given by Zebre on Wednesday.

"Right arm surgery for @kellyhaimona 90 days of recovery for Zebre #Rugby flyhalf  #PRO12Rugby #ForzaKelly," read a tweet from their account.

Zebre face the Ospreys at the Liberty Stadium this weekend.
