Stormers scrum-half Nic Groom will bring up his 50th appearance for the franchise should he feature against the Reds this weekend.
Jano Vermaak's injury means Groom should play at Newlands and the 26-year-old expressed his gratitude to all those involved with the Stormers when thinking about his milestone this week.
Groom's Super Rugby debut came against the Cheetahs back in 2011 and he admits that his hunger to perform consistently hasn't waned during his time in Cape Town.
"When I started playing rugby when I left school, to think that I'd be sitting here before a possible 50th run-on… you'd have to be kind of crazy to think that," Groom told Sport24.
"It's been a great journey so far. I seriously need to just thank all of the people involved… from coaches to players to mentors.
"I remember when I ran out for my first game one of my biggest focuses as a rugby player was not to be a one-hit wonder, but to be someone that consistently is always pushing for his place.
"I'm happy to be here, but that's pretty much all it is… we've got a job to do."
