Ayumu Goromaru is eager to test himself against the pace of Super Rugby when he runs out for the Reds this season.
The Japanese superstar wrote his name into the history books following his outstanding performance in the win over South Africa at the Rugby World Cup, described as the game's biggest upset.
He continued to impress through the Brave Blossom's campaign and was named as full-back in the RWC Dream Team.
The Australian franchise have since snapped him up and now the 29-year-old is hoping to impress.
"It's my first time in Super Rugby but I hope to be able to bring something to the Reds," the 56 test veteran told a press conference in Brisbane.
"The level of speed and power in Super Rugby is different so I'm looking forward to testing myself.
"It will be a very proud moment for me to pull on the Reds jersey. Hopefully the Reds fans will get behind me."
The Reds open their Super Rugby account in Sydney against the Waratahs on February 27.
