Wasps back-row forward Guy Thompson believes the arrival of fly-half Jimmy Gopperth has filled the gap left by departing veteran Andy Goode.
Goode, 35, was an experienced head at the Ricoh Arena last season but is now with London Irish due to Wasps' signing of New Zealand playmaker Gopperth.
And Thompson is confident the former Leinster player will shine in 2015/16.
"Players move on – Andy had great Premiership experience," he told BBC Coventry and Warwickshire.
"Jimmy's also got great experience and won Golden Boot after Golden Boot."
Gopperth has plenty of experience to call upon after stints with the Hurricanes, Newcastle and Leinster over the years, something Thompson highlighted.
"On top of his Newcastle career, he's got great experience with Leinster in the Heineken Cup," he added, "I think it's a fantastic signing."
It's not just in the backline Wasps have brought in a southern hemisphere star as Wallaby flanker George Smith arrives from Lyon, with Thompson keen to soak up his knowledge during pre-season.
"George joined us about three weeks ago and he's made a great impact on the field with the boys," he continued.
"He's the ultimate professional and, on a personal level, you'd be silly to waste the chance to learn off someone like George – one of the greats of the game."
