Glasgow Warriors lose Horne, Hughes to injury

Glasgow Warriors were dealt a double blow with the news that backs Peter Horne and Rory Hughes are set for lengthy spells on the sidelines due to injury.

The duo were stretchered off during the game against Munster at Scotstoun last Friday night.

Fly-halff Horne sustained knee and ankle injuries and his ankle requires surgical repair. He is expected to be out of action for up to 16 weeks.

Winger Hughes sustained a knee injury and will also undergo surgery. He is expected to remain on the sidelines for up to eight weeks.

Meanwhile, Adam Ashe has stepped up his comeback from a hip injury and is being integrated back into training with the squad.

Second-rows Tjiuee Uanivi, Scott Cummings and Greg Peterson, along with centre Richie Vernon are progressing well with their rehab following shoulder injuries and are working on fitness with the club’s strength and conditioning team, ahead of a return early in the New Year.

Winger Leonardo Sarto is progressing well under the guidance of the medical team following shoulder surgery last month.
