Toulon’ star playmaker Matt Giteau will be out for up to two months after he was forced to undergo surgery on his adductors.
Giteau has not featured for Toulon since January 10th, and has endured an injury-disrupted campaign for the European champions.
And with his adductor problem having slowed him all season, the decision has been taken that surgery is needed, meaning he is set to be out for six to eight weeks.
That shouldn’t be a huge blow to Toulon, who are currently well-placed in the race for a Top 14 play-off spot, while Giteau is scheduled to be back in time for their Champions Cup quarter-final with Wasps on April 4th.
