Toulon star Matt Giteau was full of praise for Clermont Auvergne ahead of the Champions Cup Final, billing them as favourites.
The double European champions are looking to make history this weekend at Twickenham by becoming the first ever side to win three straight European titles.
Giteau started when Toulon pipped Clermont back in 2013 and the Australia star billed them as "a beautiful team".
"Clermont are a very beautiful team. To me, they're the best team this season because they've played well all the time and got the job done," Giteau told the EPCR website.
"I think they're the favourites this weekend, although in such a big game it's not about being the favourites, the important thing is to win. Their qualities make it hard to say that one player is better than the others.
"But what I do know is that defence and discipline will be essential. We will have to work very hard as a team."
Giteau added that the squad hadn't been distracted by the prospect of making history in London, saying the time for that would come in the future.
"We aren't thinking about being the first team to win the European Cup three times in a raw. That is something you think about when you are 60 years old.
"Then you can think about it and say 'Oh yes, that was special', but now the only one thing matters is winning. I think we are ready and I hope we will win."
