Ghiraldini calls on Tigers to fire

Leonardo Ghiraldini admits Leicester need to rediscover their best form if they are to have any hope of reaching the quarter-finals.

The Tigers get back into Champions Cup action on Friday with a home clash against the Scarlets, before a tricky game in Belfast against Ulster in round six.

Currently third in the pool on eight points, Leicester need to win both of their remaining games, and hope that other results go their way, if they are to make the knockout stages.

However they showed in victory over Toulon last month, that they are capable of beating the best sides and Italy hooker Ghiraldini believes the Tigers can do it again.

“It was a great victory (against Toulon), but that is how we need to play every time we take the field. We were like that against Bath the other day and that’s how we want to play against the Scarlets and Ulster in our final two Champions Cup matches,” he said.

“We didn’t really play up to our usual standards at Llanelli. I’m sure it will be different on Friday night, although we do need to be very accurate in our game.

“I know the Scarlets have a very good pack, but we are training really hard and intend to show what the real Tigers can do this week in the return game.”
