Australia scrum-half Will Genia reportedly looked to back out of his move to Top 14 champions Stade Français.
Genia signed a three-year deal to move to Paris earlier this year after the club paid a release fee to Premiership side Bath, who had previously signed Genia on a pre-contract.
However, Fairfax Media now report that Genia has been in talks with the ARU to get out of his deal with Stade.
Those talks have allegedly stalled, with Genia now prepared to go through with his move overseas despite having serious doubts.
Genia revealed to Fairfax Media back in June that he had sought advice from Matt Giteau about moving to France.
"I just spoke to him and said 'I'm starting to get really sad, it's coming to an end, I'm sometimes questioning the decision I've made because I love Queensland and the Wallabies so much'," he said.
"He was great, he just said 'that's normal to feel that way, you've been lucky enough to do a lot in your career and now you can come over here and test yourself again, try to win something new and do something different'.
"That really helped, it was great to hear that from him."
