Genge ready for Racing clash

Leicester prop Ellis Genge wants his team to build on their second-half showing against Wasps in the coming weeks of the season.

Genge was a key contributor to the Tigers' spirited comeback against Wasps and while they fell short of the Premiership pace-setters, he was encouraged by their performance after the break in Coventry.

"We were flying in the second-half but we didn't get the result and that's what we're here to do," said Genge when speaking to Leicester's website following the narrow defeat. "We have a lot of positives to take away and bits to iron out. We showed good character to fight back.

"We had 10 minutes where we conceded 12 points and the final score was 22-16. You take away those and it is a different game."

Leicester face Racing 92 in Paris on Saturday in the Champions Cup and Genge is looking forward to the challenge that lies ahead of them.

"It will be a different experience," he said. "We are still looking to get out of the group. We possibly need some results to go our way but we will concentrate on what we can control.

"We will go over there with some confidence and try to put on a performance for the fans and try to make it happen."
