Quintin Geldenhuys will lead Italy in their first World Cup warm-up game against Scotland in Turin on Saturday.
The veteran second row will pack down alongside Valerio Bernabó as part of an experienced pack of forwards.
With Kelly Haimona out injured, the fly-half duties fall on Tommaso Allan, who will combine with Guglielmo Palazzani in a new half-back combination.
Elsewhere Tommaso Benvenuti makes his return to the team at outside centre, lining up next Gonzalo Garcia, while Giovambattista Venditti and Leonardo Sarto get the nod on the wings.
There is plenty of experience on the bench with a trio of centurions in Martin Castrogiovanni, Marco Bortolami and Mauro Bergamasco, however replacement half-backs Marcello Violi and Carlo Canna will both make their debuts off the bench.
Sergio Parisse is rested however after suffering from light flu symptoms during the week.
The two sides last met during the Six Nations at Murrayfield, when a late penalty try was enough to give Italy a win.
