Gatland dishes out silent treatment

Wales scrum-half Rhys Webb has revealed that head coach Warren Gatland didn’t say a word to the team after their defeat to England.

The home side shot out of the blocks on Friday into a 10-0 lead, with Webb scoring after a great piece of skill from Toby Faletau.

But England muscled their way back into the game and comprehensively outplayed Wales in the second half.

Webb anticipated that training this week will be ‘brutal’ ahead of facing Scotland.

“Warren did not say anything afterwards. Nothing,” said Webb.

“We lost out physically a bit to England and I am sure we will be getting stuck into each other in training this week.

“Monday and Tuesday will be pretty brutal. We will look at the video of the game and everyone will chip in and say their piece.

“That is where we are as a team. We are capable of repeating the achievement of two years ago when we lost to Ireland but went on to win the championship. This is a world-class team.”
