Newcastle Falcons have confirmed that Italian international Josh Furno will return to the PRO12 next season after agreeing a move to Zebre.

Joining the Falcons for the 2014/15 season, Furno made 16 appearances in his debut season, scoring three tries in the Premiership and one in the LV= Cup.

A combination of international call-ups and injuries limited his involvement during 2015/16 to only four games, against Exeter, Gloucester and Northampton at home and away to the Saints at Stadium:MK.

Director of rugby Dean Richards said: “The club and I would like to wish Josh the very best with his move back to Italy with Zebre.

“Injuries unfortunately meant that we never really got the chance to see the best of him on a regular basis, but he leaves with our thanks and sincere best wishes for further success in the PRO12 and with Italy in the future.”
