A breakout figure in the 2014 Rugby Championship where his impressive scrummaging caught the eye for los Pumas, Daniel Hourcade’s team will be looking to build on their famous win over Australia.

Nothing in Argentina’s philosophy however has radically changed following their success over the Wallabies, as Herrera points out.

“The gameplan is the same one that we’ve been working on since June and looked to impose in the Rugby Championship,” said Herrera.

“Certainly there will be things that we’ll have to adapt for each opponent or for different conditions, but nothing huge.

“We know the opposition will use the boot more, but we’re aware that all three opponents are great teams and we can’t be overconfident for a second.”

Facing les Bleus will be extra special for Herrera, who joined Castres this year on a two-year deal.

“Playing against France is always a motivation – a great team with great players – because I face them every week in the Top 14 and play alongside some of them, so it would be incredible to play in that game. What’s more, the Stade de France is stunning.
