France sweat over Clerc
Veteran wing Vincent Clerc could be the latest French back to be ruled out of the Six Nations after suffering a thigh injury on Friday.
Veteran Test wing Vincent Clerc could be the latest French back to be ruled out of the Six Nations after suffering a thigh injury in Toulouse's win over Biarritz on Friday.
Clerc, who is the Heineken Cup's all-time top try scorer and has more Test tries to his name than any other active Frenchman, pulled up late in the second half of Toulouse's 19-14 win at Stade Ernest Wallon and was not able to finish the match.
The severity of the injury still not clear but Clerc confirmed that he feared a muscle pull.
It's been a hard week for les Bleus injury wise as they have already lost centre Gaël Fickou and full-back Brice Dulin.
The French squad assembles on the outskirts of Paris on Saturday ahead of their opening clash against Italy on Sunday, February 3.
