France have qualified for the 2016 Rio Olympics after winning the final of Sunday's Rugby Europe Grand Prix 7s Series at Sandy Park in Exeter.

Victory over Wales in the last eight secured their place in next year's mouth-watering event and they then went on to beat Germany to make the final.

France took on England in that final and won 14-5 to cap a great weekend.

"I am really happy," France captain Terry Bouhraoua told AFP in Exeter.

"I am very proud of the team. It has at times been difficult over the past five years, people didn't believe in the French team.

"It is unbelievable."
