George Ford has committed himself to England by ruling out a move to France where his father Mike is coach of Toulon.
Mike Ford was appointed head coach of the Top 14 giants last month after Diego Dominguez was sacked. Ford initially joined Toulon as backs coach. His move to France came after Bath sacked him as their Director of Rugby after last season's disappointing Premiership season.
Mike Ford's appointment at Toulon naturally sparked speculation that George, who played under him at Bath, could join his father at his new club, but George Ford moved to quash those rumours this week, saying he didn't want to end his international career by moving to France.
This comes after England coach Eddie Jones had warned Ford that a move to Toulon would end his career with the national side.
"Obviously my dad's there but I want to play for England so I want to play in England. After it all came out I had a quick chat with Eddie and said 'I don't know where all that's come from'," George Ford said.
Ford did not rule out playing overseas at a much later stage in his career.
"I think it would be a great life experience playing somewhere like France," he said. "It is a different way of playing and living – you'd probably see the sun and the beach a lot more… I'll see where I am in a few years' time."
