Force fly-half Jono Lance made a massive impact in their 22-6 win over the struggling Reds at Suncorp Stadium on Friday.

Lance booted five penalties to steer the visitors to victory, and the pivot was happy that his side could come back after going down to the Rebels in round one.

“After dropping a game at home last week this win is big for us. It was a tough battle out there, we were better at the breakdown and smarter about when to take the ball into contact or look for those offloads, " said Lance.

“We will look to carry this momentum into next week’s clash with the Brumbies.”

Fleet-footed Fijian wing Semisi Masirewa, also thrilled with the victory, was solid on defence and again put some impressive footwork on display.

“Just so happy we got the win tonight,” he said. “It was a really hard fought match and a bit scrappy but we got the job done. I didn’t touch it much last week but I got some time on the ball tonight which was great.”
