Western Force have been hit by an early blow to their Super Rugby season with centre Kyle Godwin and flanker Chris Alcock suffering injuries.

According to The West Australian, Godwin will miss up to eight weeks after he sustained a damaged medial collateral ligament in his knee.

Losing the young inside centre is a major setback for the Force, who could call in Junior Rasolea for their next match against the Reds.

Adding to their woes is the news that hard-working flanker Alcock will miss ten weeks after suffering posterior cruciate ligament damage.

Alcock started Western Force's Super Rugby opener from the bench, with Angus Cottrell, Matt Hodgson and Brynard Stander the back-row.
