Prop forward Kieran Longbottom sustained a foot injury playing for Saracens in their Premiership fixture at home to Gloucester on Saturday.

“Kieran is due to have surgery and will then commence rehabilitation with the club’s medical staff,” said Saracens Head of Medicine Joe Collins.

Longbottom has been a hit at Allianz Park since arriving from the Western Force.

The 28-year-old was reportedly on the radar of Australia head coach Ewen McKenzie before making the move to Europe after six years with the Force.

Longbottom played in five of Saracens’ first six Premiership matches this season.
