Foley: ‘Our belief will pay off’

Bernard Foley says Australia will stick to their structures and strategies when they face the Springboks in Brisbane next Saturday.

The Wallabies go into the Test under massive pressure on the back of a six-match losing streak, including heavy defeats to New Zealand in their last two Tests in the Rugby Championship.

Foley has had to adapt to the role of inside centre following injuries to Matt Giteau, Rob Horne and Matt Toomua. South Africa are also under pressure after their first ever defeat to los Pumas in Argentina.

"Belief in what we're doing is going to pay off. It's tough when you have those sort of losses but the belief is really true. We've had some pretty robust discussions in how we're playing and how we want to play," Foley said.

"As disappointing as those games were we have to keep persisting with what we want to do in the long run. We've learned a lot from those two weeks and it should put us in a good position going forward. It's always frustrating when you're not getting the results but we can't let that deter us or take away from the good work we're doing. We don't want to go out there and be second-guessing our decisions on the field, or not play our natural game. We're not trying to change too much.

"It's a shame all the hard work off the field hasn't transferred onto the field yet but I think we're only a week off."
