Australia full-back Israel Folau is set to have an operation on his injured ankle which will keep him on the sidelines for at least four months.
According to a Seven Network report in Australia, the 26-year-old will have the surgery next Tuesday and will have to pull out of his upcoming deal with Japanese club NTT-Docomo Red Hurricanes.
Folau battled to overcome the ankle injury during the recent Rugby World Cup in England and made little impact at the tournament.
He failed to score a try in five appearances at the global showpiece and missed Australia's narrow quarter-final victory against Scotland due to his injury.
The same report also stated he will battle to be ready for the start of the Waratahs' Super Rugby campaign in 2016.
